Set Screws

Do you need to fix a gear onto a shaft? You do not want the screw head to stick out. Our Set Screws have no head. They sit fully inside the threaded hole. They will not block other parts. They press directly against the shaft or inner surface to make a tight hold. We are a Shanghai factory. We have made fasteners for 20 years.

We take an M8×1.25 cup point set screw as an example. You tighten it to the recommended torque of 15 N·m on a shaft. It makes at least 500 N of axial clamping force. This is enough to hold a gear firmly on the shaft. The size range is M4 to M20. Carbon steel grade is 45H or 50H. Core hardness is ≥HV 450. Thread precision is 6g. We offer four end types. Flat point works for frequent adjustments. It does not damage the mating surface. Cone point (90° or 120°) works when the shaft already has a cone dimple. Knife point works for soft shafts or temporary fixing. Cup point gives the most bite. It works for most metal shaft fixing. We offer stainless steel SUS304 or 316 and carbon steel 45# or SCM435. The hex drive depth and width meet ISO 4026, ISO 4027, and ISO 4028. The cup point gets local heat treatment. Its hardness reaches HRC 50-55. It will not deform when you tighten.
